Where is Telluride?
Telluride is located on the scenic San Juan Skyway in the heart of southwest Colorado’s San Juan Mountains. It is located at latitude 37.94N, longitude 107.9W. In town, the elevation reaches 8640 feet.
What is Mountain Village?
Mountain Village is a community that has grown up around the ski resort, above the town of Telluride. It has a separate town government and HOA that provides many services to residents, including cable/internet, trash collection and business licensing.

Cell phone reception in Telluride
Most cell phone companies have reception here in Telluride. Some however will be on roaming. Sprint and Cingular carriers will not have very good reception. However, Verizon and Alltel will have reception that does not place you on roaming.

Mail Service
Telluride has no home mail delivery and there is a waiting list for a
P. O. Box. Be prepared to have your mail sent General Delivery.
In Mountain Village: The Village has USPO cluster box delivery based on street addresses. All single family homes, condos and businesses with a Mountain Village office are assigned a box. The post office is located next to the gondola station and grocery store.
Trash and Recycling
Telluride and Mountain Village offer curbside pick-up of trash and recycling. Be aware that the community faces issues from wild animals, especially bears. Secure your trash to keep bears off the streets.
San Miguel County Resident Parking Sticker
This handy sticker (necessary for driving into town during festivals) is given to you when you register your car in San Miguel County.

Be aware that there are additional restrictions put in place for winter parking. Also sleeping in your car is not prohibited within the town limits.
Public Transportation
Many Telluride residents rely on bus and gondola services for their daily transportation needs. It is possible to live here without a car.
